Make these Teddy Bear Race Cars at home for your child’s next birthday party or simply for an afternoon treat. It is a very easy, kid friendly recipe. And super fun to make that even a 3 year old could do it. We made a few of these for my son’s Disney Cars Birthday Party, and the children absolutely loved it!
What you need to make these Teddy Bear Race Cars:
- 100g. milk chocolate
- Mars chocolate bars (Fun size)
- Tiny Teddies (or similar teddy biscuits)
- M&Ms or Smarties
How to make these Teddy Bear Race Cars:
First step is to melt the milk chocolate in the microwave for approximately 20-30 seconds, depending on your microwave. This will act as the ‘glue’ to stick the wheels (M&Ms).
Unwrap the Mars chocolate bars, and with a sharp knife, create a slit in the very middle of the bar, taking care not to slice the bar in half. This is best done by holding the knife vertically, then ‘stabbing’ the Mars bar right in the middle. Make sure your knife does not cut through the sides of the chocolate bar. This is where the teddy bear will sit.
Then create a smaller slit between one edge and the middle slit. This is where the steering wheel will sit.
Now for the fun part, when the kids can decorate… First, sort out the M&Ms according to color. Also, sort out the teddy bear biscuits, choosing the ones that are standing.
Push the teddy bear biscuit into the middle slit of the Mars bar, and push an M&M into the smaller slit. If necessary, dip the very tip of the M&M in the melted chocolate before putting it in place in the smaller slit.
With the back of a teaspoon, smear some melted chocolate on the sides of the Mars bar, to prepare the ‘glue’ for the ‘wheels’. Stick 4 similar colored M&M on the sides… or let your child be crazy, and allow him/her to stick random colors.
It’s that easy! Let your kids create these teddy bear race cars. They will love it!
