Have you ever thought of letting your kids create artwork using paint and tape? If not, it’s time to try Tape Resist Painting. This is a fun process art technique that usually produces a beautiful outcome. Using the tape resist art technique, your child can easily do Snowflake Painting. This is one of the easiest winter themed art activities for kids. Plus young Disney Frozen fans will absolutely love this.
What you need for Snowflake Painting:
How to make Snowflake Paintings:
- Using electric tape, let your child form ‘snowflakes’ (by forming asterisks) on the paper or canvas. The photo below is done by a 4-year-old….
- On a bowl, pour out some blue and white paint. You can mix the paint together to form a light blue color. But you can also leave them separate, because the effect is also nice this way. Let the kids dab a scrunched up paper towel onto the paint and all around the ‘snowflakes.’
- When your child is done with his/her artwork, carefully peel off the electric tape. We used electric tape, because it does not adhere as well to paper as much as other types of tape. This way, it comes off easily without tearing the paper.
Isn’t this such an easy and fun art activity for kids? Great to make at home. Easy enough to make at preschool too. And if you have a Disney Frozen fan at home, this will make a cute art activity for a Disney Frozen Party as well.
Here is another art idea that you can do using Tape by Mum in the Mad House: Faux Stained Glass Art.
