Have you ever heard of Fairy Bread? I hadn’t either until we moved to Australia. At almost every child’s birthday party, fairy bread is served. It is essentially white bread, spread with some butter and topped with sprinkles. It can’t get any easier than that right? So for a Valentine’s Day treat, give the usual fairy bread a loving twist by making some Heart Shaped Fairy Bread.
Heart Shaped Fairy Bread
What you need:
- White bread
- Butter
- Sprinkles
- Heart Shaped Cutter
How to Make Heart Shaped Fairy Bread:
- Cut heart shapes of white bread using the heart shaped cutter
.
- Spread a thin layer of butter over the heart shaped bread.
- Cover it generously with sprinkles. The butter allows the sprinkles to stick to the bread.
Serve and enjoy!
Alternatively, you could make a heart shaped fairy bread sandwich. This also helps avoid waste, because it makes use of the off cut or border of the heart shape cut out. Spread the butter on a whole piece of white bread. Generously top this slice with sprinkles. Then place the piece of bread with a heart cut out on top.
Wasn’t this a super simple, Valentine’s Day treat? If you’d like to get more kid friendly recipes from Kidz Activities, follow us on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
