It’s Healthy Lunch Day today at my kids’ school. My daughter insisted that she bring a Fruit Pizza with Watermelon Crust. It seemed like a great idea, so I went ahead and bought the ingredients. Then I let her have fun and create her own Fruit Pizza to share with her friends at school today. This is by far, one of the easiest and healthiest kid friendly recipes we’ve shared on Kidz Activities.
Fruit Pizza with Watermelon Crust
Here’s how she made it:
The only thing I did was slice the watermelon crosswise, to get a near perfect round shape. I then sliced this into 8 slices, just like you would on a normal pizza.
My daughter decided on these fruit pizza toppings: kiwi, green grapes and blueberries.
More fruit pizza topping ideas: Sliced bananas, diced mangoes, thinly sliced peaches or white chocolate shavings to pretend they’re ‘cheese.’
My daughter wanted to limit her fruit pizza toppings because she wanted it to taste good, as well as look good. So I let her do as she pleased. She loves blueberries, so she put in lots of them. She also used the blueberries, half cut grapes and sliced kiwis to create a sort of snowman figure. For her first ever fruit pizza with watermelon crust creation, I think she did a good job at it. She had a lot of fun creating this, so I think this isn’t the last time we will be doing this at home.
She secured each piece of fruit with a toothpick, because she had to transport this to school. But if you’re serving this fruit pizza with watermelon crust in a party at home, you could definitely do without the toothpicks.
Wasn’t this a super simple, super easy, but super fun kid friendly recipe? Turn this into an activity with kids at home, just before morning or afternoon tea. And for sure, your little ones will eat more fruit than they usually do.
