Want the kids to create an apple print artwork, but don’t have apples on hand? Here’s an idea! Let the kids create mini apples through this Apple Fingerprint Art activity! It’s one of the easiest art activities for kids by Kidz Activities. Grab lots of scratch paper because the kids will want to keep dipping their fingers into paint and pressing them onto paper (repeatedly!). Or you can do what we did. After so much paper and lots of apple fingerprint practice, the kids decided to decorate blank white cards with their newly found talent of making red and green apples using their fingers.
Apple Fingerprint Art
What you need to make Apple Fingerprint Art:
- Red paint
- Green paint
- A cotton swab (Q-tip)
- Black pen
- Paper (or blank white cards)
- And lastly, tiny little fingers! 🙂
How to make this Apple Fingerprint Art:
- Let the kids dip their pointer finger into the red paint. Tell them to press their finger flat and at a slight angle to the right. Lift. Then on almost the same spot, let them press their finger flat and at a slight angle to the left. This makes the body of one red apple.
- Dip a cotton swab in the green paint. And lightly dot the top of the apple, creating the leaf attached to the apple.
- Then using a black or brown pen, draw a tiny little stem from the leaf.
And that’s it! Check out this step-by-step Apple Fingerprint Art creation done by a 5-year old…
After making one apple, repeat the process to make more apples. Create green apples as well by using green paint. Put red and green apples randomly on one white card. Or even make an apple wreath on white card. These will make great Christmas cards, like the ones in the photo below….
